Don’t miss the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center located on the over-water walkway approaching the St. Pete Pier. Their efforts are to highlight the local ecosystem and Tampa Bay Watch’s past and present work to restore it. The focal point is a large 1,800 gallon estuary habitat that replicates the living habitat of many of the species found in our local waters, along with interactive exhibits, daily programs and a touch tank.

Toss a Line at Skyway Fishing Pier State Park

Getting kids on the water for a family fun fishing trip is a great way to spend quality time on your vacation. At the pier, you will get a wide range of saltwater fish, but the main attraction is the Grouper. Other than that, you will find black sea bass, snook, cobia, mackerel, snapper, tarpon, pompano, and sheepshead. The best times to cast a line are when the tides are moving, so keep an eye on the time of the day with this tide chart.

If you are lucky, you will return with a trophy fish and a story to tell. Even if you are not the luckiest, you will still have plenty to tell about a great day on the water!

Tucked away in Pass-A-Grille is one of St. Pete Beach’s best kept secrets.
